So I know that the thought of Paris Whitney Hilton causes most peoples' skins to crawl with absolute frustration and dislike but it has to be agreed upon that her sense of style is really simple yet beautiful. Okay so she doesn't ALWAYS look good and her actions and behaviour may sometimes outweigh her well-put-together looks but I still think her sense of style is really great!

Swimming Trunks for men!

Okay so the Summer season is almost (yes almost!) upon us in the Southern Hemisphere and I have been trying to find the perfect swimming attire. So the speedo and the tight shorts / swimming boxer brief looking trunks are out... But what do you think about these golden swimming trunks from American Apparel? I think they're rather different and they are sure to get you noticed on the beach!

One of Elizabeth Arden's skin products I swear by is Elizabeth Arden 8 hour skin protectant! Use it on absolutely everything from dry skin, dark circles under your eyes, sun burn and even dry lips! Such a versatile product!

The skin protectant retails for about 17 dollars!

Here's what Elizabeth Arden's website says about the product: "It's great on the elbows and cuticles, it heals, moisturizes and soothes. It reverses the dryness in the skin; especially during cold weather it's terrific. It gives that beautiful, healthy and natural look to the skin"

Hair Accessories

I have discovered one of the cutest and most fashionable ways to spruce up your hair if you have very little time to do so! I've spotted quite a few women with designer accessories in their hair! The addition of a Chanel Alice band or Fendi Clip is the perfect way to keep your tresses in place!

So, it seems as if many a fashion house have resorted to some hardcore embellishments to catch our attention... this time Christian Louboutin and Burberry are using spikes to win us over!

Self Tan Solutions!

Right, if you are pasty white and resemble snow white then this blog post is for you! I have discovered two excellent self-tan solutions!

First up is the more expensive option - this being Clarins Delicious.

A silky, lightly scented self tanner for the body that is infused with pure cocoa extracts.

 Just one tip - the colour tends to go on to the skin and gives a yellow-ish appearance - this colour soon disappears to leave a light glow (be sure to wash your hands after the application!)

The next option (being slightly cheaper) is Piz Buin's self tan tinted lotion which retails for about twenty-one dollars (as opposed to the Clarins product which sells for forty-two dollars!)

The Clarins product is better in terms of the smell factor, the scent is delicate (this is not to say that the Piz Buin is overwhelming though!).

The top tip for using any fake tan is to EXFOLIATE before you apply the lotion!

Good Luck and remember to always use a sun screen if you plan on going into the sun (a fake tan does not protect you from the sun's harmful rays!)

Designers 101

This post is inspired by my friend... She was mulling over which designer was associated with which design house (and which designer recently deceased!)

So, borne from her questions I designed an appropriate flow chart... so called Designers for dummies!

Chanel Fragrance MUST haves!

Chanel produces the most glorious fragrances with the most exquisite, long lasting fragrances. The fragrances produced by the fashion house represent sheer sophistication !

My favourite fragrance for women is Coco Mademoiselle! Chanel describes this fragrance as "feminine and sexy, young and exciting"! I would recommend this to any woman as her staple fragrance, it is absolutely luxurious!

Keira Knightley is stunning in this new advertisement for the fragrance! She is a classic beauty!

The definitive male equivalent of Mademoiselle is definitely Chanel Allure (Homme sport). What I like about this fragrance is the fact that it stays on for extended periods of time, smells great and is not overbearing!

You should definitely go out and try these fragrances!  I have learnt a few tips on how to spray the fragrance so that the scent lingers for longer.... spray a mist of fragrance and walk through it OR spray the fragrance in your hair (I know it sounds odd - but it works!).

Birkin... the gauche marker of status!

Gauche (adjective)

lacking social grace, sensitivity, or acuteness; awkward; crude;tactless:  (www.dictionary.com) 

Whilst the Birkin may have originally been intended to represent some sort of status symbol, its widespread usage and awful public displays on the arms of many a "celebrity" have downgraded the worth and value of such an iconic brand. The likes of rather gauche and tactless celebrities are seen toting these iconic luxury brands as gym bags (visualize Kim Kardashian and Nicole Richie) or as unrealistic symbols of a longing to be hailed as a fashionista (visualize Victoria Beckham).

The new definition of Birkin should read: "gauche" ...

I may however say one thing, Marc Jacobs is very gutsy! The designer has often been spotted toting his very own Birkin bag! Dare I say that this could be a trend!
